"Would be a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp" – Journalist drops big claim on £72m-rated Liverpool ace

Having Trent Alexander-Arnold fit for Liverpool’s potential title decider against Manchester City next month would be a “huge boost” for Jurgen Klopp, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £72m-rated right-back is currently out with a hamstring problem and is in a race against time to be fit for the game at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday week.

While Liverpool’s victory at Arsenal in their final Premier League game before the international break was a huge three points in their pursuit of the title, losing Alexander-Arnold could prove a crucial blow in their attempts to chase down Pep Guardiola’s side.

Despite playing 90 minutes at the Emirates, the 23-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win and has been ruled out for several weeks.

That was almost two weeks ago, so it remains unclear when Alexander-Arnold could return to fitness having already missed the Reds’ FA Cup tie, while he was forced to withdraw from the England squad.

Klopp said: “Trent is out with a hamstring, so he cannot be part of England too. Not good news, we will see how long that takes.”

April could prove a crucial month for Liverpool in their hunt of the quadruple, with a game against Manchester United also in their fixture list, while they face City in the FA Cup semi-finals six days after their top-flight meeting.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Coming up to a key number of games, including that showdown with Manchester City in the Premier League and also in the FA Cup, to have Trent Alexander-Arnold fit would be a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp and all Liverpool fans.”
