Worst darts bust ever? Ron Meulenkamp suffers major brain fade
Dutchman Ron Meulenkamp suffered a major darts brain fade during his match against Keane Barry at the International Darts Open in Germany.
Sitting on 163 left to checkout, Meulenkamp threw a maximum which meant he inexplicably bust his score.
He was already 2-0 down at the time so he really needed to win the leg to have any chance of making a comeback but the writing was on the wall after the visit.
It was a critical error as it enabled the Irishman to take a 3-0 lead, in one of the most astonishing moments seen in darts, in years.
He was perhaps put off due to the fact that Barry hit a 180 in the visit before his throw but the massive mistake cost him dearly as he went out of the competition after suffering a 6-2 defeat.
It was looking like a pretty good leg by The Bomb up to this point as he was sat on 163 after nine darts.
The 33-year-old will hope for a much better display when he next takes to the stage at the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim on March 11.
