World stage potential for FHO Racing

FHO Racing BSB team boss, Faye Ho, was at Most WorldSBK - primarily to watch her regular rider Peter Hickman compete for the official BMW Motorrad factory team.

When asked if she had designs on a WorldSBK season next year, she remained coy but positive.

“I do like the paddock here, and I feel very welcome,” Ho admitted. “It’s quite exciting to do a world series. Obviously, I did the Donington round as a wildcard with Pete, and then this time he got asked by BMW to come to Czech to ride in this round.

“You just don’t know? I think there might be a possibility of another wildcard at some point. You just don’t know. I’m enjoying it, and there’s a possibility I’d like to come to Worlds.”

Playing her cards close, when asked if that could be as early as next season, she stated, “I’m not saying anything yet, but yeah.”

When then asked if that would automatically be with the manufacturer she races with now - BMW - she acknowledged, “I’m still open. I’m kind of speaking to a few. I need to do a bit more investigation on it. I haven’t made my decision, so we’re not quite sure.

“I think, for myself, last year was the first year of BSB for me to do as a series in England with BMW, then this year I’m staying with BMW. I’d like to understand more and speak to other manufacturers, too. Obviously, I’m talking to BMW too.”

Whether FHO comes racing in WorldSBK or not, does Faye have a self imposed deadline of when that decision has to be made? “Kind of, yes,” she confirmed. “I know it’s a bit of a tight schedule, so I’m actually working on it, speaking to the relevant people and obviously I’m liaising with my own team at the moment. So, we’ll see.”
