World Snooker Championship 2022 prize money: How much does winner earn this year?

The World Snooker Championship is into the semi-final stage at the Crucible in Sheffield. The final four sees Ronnie O'Sullivan battling John Higgins for a place in the final and Judd Trump taking on Mark Williams.

The semi-finals kicked off on Thursday, with play continuing across Friday and Saturday. The final itself will be played over the course of two days before a winner is crowned on Monday 2 May.

There is a large prize on offer for the winner of the competition, with the sport's most prestigious tournament unsurprisingly boasting the biggest prize fund. Here is what the winner earns and the full prize money breakdown:

The winner will take home £500,000 with £200,000 going to the runner up while players beaten in the first round will earn £20,000.

There is £15,000 on offer for the highest televised break and £40,000 for a 147 maximum break.
