World Championship: Jack Lisowski in round two after tense win over Noppon Saengkham; Judd Trump or Anthony McGill next

Jack Lisowski advanced to the second round of the World Championship with a tense 10-7 victory over Noppon Saengkham at the Crucible. Lisowski had a 6-3 overnight lead in this first round encounter after making an electric start as he moved into a 2-1 lead. Ad Saengkham rallied well and made a reply to Lisowski's next two frames, but missed a number of chances to give Lisowski a three-frame overnight lead.

It ebbed and flowed both ways in chances missed galore. Saengkham missed a red to the right corner, Lisowski then missed a blue to the green and the Thai squandered an opportunity on a cut-back red.

It all became very scrappy in this battle between two players known for their potting talents. Lisowski left a free ball, but Saengkham missed it. He then left a green for Lisowski to pot and secure the frame.
