World Athletics Championships Highlights: Neeraj Chopra made history by clinching India's first-ever World Athletics Championships gold medal in the final of men's javelin event in Budapest. The 88.17m on his second attempt proved to be the winner with 86.32m on his third, 84.64m on his fourth and 83.98m on his final attempt.

The quartet of Muhammed Anas, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal and Rajesh Ramesh finished 5th in men's 4x400m relay race with a time of 2:59.92 minutes. Parul Chaudhary finished 11th in Women's 3000m Steeplechase final.
