Wordle: What is today's Wordle answer?

Wordle remains a global phenomenon, with players from across the globe playing the game every single day but what is the answer to today’s Wordle?

To play the game, of course, all you need to do is go into the New York Times website and start guessing.

You’ll get six attempts to guess the five-letter word and there won’t be any hints there either, until you’ve put your first guess in.

Were you to guess ‘CRANE’, and none of those five letters were in the final word, each square would remain grey. If there were any correct letters that were in the wrong place, they would turn yellow. And if there were correct letters in the correct place, they would turn green.

It’s a remarkably simple game and that perhaps goes some way to explaining just why it’s been so popular with so many players.

Part of the beauty of the game is that everyone playing in the English language has to guess the same word, and then you can brag about it on social media if you got it straight away or after two guesses.

Of course, you should just brag if you get it right, and also post if you get it wrong, but we’re here to tell you the answer.

In case you haven’t guessed it today, there’s an obvious spoiler coming up!

The Wordle answer for Thursday, which is the 306th iteration of the game, is OXIDE.

Today’s is a tough one.

It’s not likely that many players will get the ‘x’ until the very end, although it is possible to get both vowels with your first guess.

Still, OXIDE isn’t exactly one of the most common words in the English language, so we’ll forgive you if this took you some time to solve!
