Wonderkid confirms highly-anticipated Manchester United transfer with social media post

Manchester United have received Premier League approval for the signing of Chido Obi-Martin with the youngster taking to social media to confirm the news.

The Manchester Evening News reported at the end of last month that ratification of Obi-Martin's move to United was imminent and the deal had been officially rubber-stamped. Since striking a deal to sign the prolific youth striker from Arsenal in July, both parties were awaiting approval.

As a result, the 16-year-old has been forced to train away from Carrington. Now that has been received, Obi-Martin will be officially unveiled as a United player soon and is expected to play between the Under-18 and Under-21 sides.

Taking to Instagram, Obi-Martin shared a picture of himself signing the contract and wrote: "Very happy to sign with this amazing club, time to focus and achieve all my dreams. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far."

The youngster will be gradually eased into his new environment and a source said 'he will need time and patience' following a spell out of the game while United waited for the Premier League to ratify the deal. It's also understood that United's head of the academy Nick Cox and the head of academy recruitment Luke Fedorenko are responsible for the deal to sign Obi-Martin.

Denmark-born Obi-Martin joined Arsenal from Danish team KB in 2022 and really impressed in north London. He notably scored 10 goals in a single game against Liverpool.
