Women's Premier Division wrap: Shamrock Rovers held at Wexford Youths

Shamrock Rovers missed the chance to return to second in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division after a 1-1 draw with Wexford Youths.

With Shelbourne, who had beaten the Hopps in last weekend's Sports Direct FAI Women's Cup semi-finals, going up to second after a midweek victory over Sligo Rovers, the pressure was on Rovers to beat Wexford and try to finish the season as runners-up behind newly-crowned champions Peamount United.

But they fell behind on 32 minutes away at Wexford who broke the deadlock through Kylie Murphy.

Shamrock Rovers salvaged a point after a Lauren Dwyer own goal but the result means Collie O'Neill's side stay two points adrift of Shelbourne with both Dublin rivals having an identical goal difference.
