Woman shot as gunman bursts into house in Liverpool

A woman was shot in the leg as a gunman burst into a house in Liverpool.

Police said the gunman was 'looking for someone' as he entered the house on Deverell Grove, in Wavertree, just after 12.15am this morning (April 26). As he was leaving the house he fired shots, one of which hit the victim in the leg.

The victim, aged in her 50s, was rushed to hospital from the scene with a non-life-threatening injury. She remains there in a stable condition.

Whilst I understand this is a shocking incident for the local community we believe that the address (not the victim) was targeted. We have a large police presence in the area carrying out inquiries and I
