Woman sexually assaulted on train from Wigan - police want to talk to this man

Police have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to talk to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train from Wigan.

The attack happened on a train to Warrington at around 6.20pm on May 28, British Transport Police said. The man left the train Warrington Bank Quay Railway Station.

Officers have now issued images of man they want to speak to as part of their investigation into the incident. Anyone who recognises him is being urged to get in touch.

A BTP statement said: "Do you recognise this man? Officers investigating a sexual assault on a train between Wigan and Warrington would like to identify him in connection.

"On 28 May at around 6.20pm the victim has been on the train when a man has sexually assaulted her before leaving the train at Warrington Bank Quay Railway Station. Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.

"If you recognise him or have any information please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 159 29/05/22. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
