Woman recounts chaotic Storm Darragh plane journey - from three 'aborted landings' to diversions and delays

A passenger on a flight from Dubai to Heathrow recounted the alarming moment when the pilot made multiple attempts to land the aircraft amidst perilous weather conditions. In recent hours, the Met Office has expanded its weather warnings as Britons continue to endure winds surpassing 90mph due to Storm Darragh.

The strong gales have disrupted transport nationwide, with fallen trees obstructing roads and planes struggling to touch down safely.

Tragically, two men have perished in separate events linked to Storm Darragh after violent winds caused trees to topple onto their vehicles. One man, in his 40s, lost his life on a dual carriageway near Longton in Lancashire when a tree struck his Citroen van. Another fatality occurred when a tree fell onto a man's car in Birmingham on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed by West Midlands Police.

As the plane prepared to land, it was clear that the turbulent winds were going to present a challenge for the pilot. From her window seat, Pip could see the severity of the weather and the potential difficulty in landing safely.

She recalled: "We came into land coming through the clouds
