Three men have been arrested after a woman was left seriously injured following a crash in Gorton.

Officers say a vehicle travelling in the direction of Manchester city centre collided with a 44-year-old female pedestrian.

GMP say the vehicle did not stop at the scene and is believed to have turned left into Delahays Range where it was abandoned.

A spokesman for the force said the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Three men aged 24, 21 and 21 were later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated taking without consent, theft of motor vehicle and perverting the course of justice. They have since been bailed pending further investigation.

It’s believed the suspects had been travelling on Stockport Road in Denton before turning left onto A57 Manchester Road South.

They then entered Denton Island and onto Hyde Road towards the city centre.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident. Anyone with any dashcam or doorbell footage of the suspects’ movements prior to and following the collision are urged to share it with GMP.
