Woman 'driven mad' by winter condensation and damp says 65p solution 'really works'

Condensation can become a massive problem for homeowners and renters in winter. When cold window glass meets the warm air inside your property, which cause droplets of water to form. If left untreated, the water can cause issues such as damp and mould which can impact your health as well as your house's value.

There are many ways of preventing condensation, including leaving your windows open to increase air circulation. But this isn't always ideal when it is cold outside, as well as impacting your energy bills as you use more gas and electricity to warm your home.

One woman, who was at her wits end with dealing with condensation, took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips for advice, writing: "Condensation hacks please, I am being insane." Luckily, fans of the cleaning sensation, Mrs Hinch, who often shares hacks with her 4.7million followers on Instagram, flooded the post with ideas.

The post attracted lots of comments, but many of them said the same thing - that she should invest in a dehumidifier. One person shared: "We use a dehumidifier in the winter which helps. But other than that it's heat and ventilation plus make sure your loft has adequate insulation and it's been installed properly. There should be a gap around the edge where your roof tiles meet the walls I believe."
