Woman charged with drink driving while child was in her car

A woman has been charged with drink driving while having a child in her car. Sarah Vazquez, 43, of Wheatfield Road in Cronton, Cheshire, is due to appear in court on Tuesday.

She was charged with drink driving and being drunk in charge of a child under the age of seven. Ms Vazquez has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Cheshire Police said officers stopped a silver BMW 1 Series on the M6 between junction 18 at Chester and junction 19 near Knutsford at about 11am yesterday.

The driver was breathalysed and was found to have 164 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Officers said they'd received 'numerous reports' about the incident.
