Woman buys Sainsbury's parsnips but is left stunned by her purchase
A woman was left stunned after discovering something trapped in her bag of baby parsnips purchased from Sainsbury's.
The shopper returned home, having not noticed anything unusual about her purchase while at the supermarket. But as she prepared to open the bag, she was left in shock by what she found.
The woman had spotted movement inside the bag of Sainsbury's parsnips, and took a video to reveal a live toad wriggling around. Her son's girlfriend, Jade, shared the bizarre find on TikTok.
The video, captioned with "Not my boyfriend's mum finding a toad in her Sainsbury's parsnips. They haven't even responded to her. The way I would've just cried". In the footage, the woman can be heard in shock, reports the Express.
She said: "I went to cut the bag but something moved and inside I found, oh my God it's moving, a toad. It's very much alive.
"There is an air hole in the bag so it's managed to stay alive. It must have been very cold in the fridge.
"Can you please let us know what we should do next?" The viral video has racked up 1.4 million views, over 45,600 likes, and numerous comments.
One viewer joked: "Did you buy on self checkout cos surely would have been unexpected item in bagging area." Another suggested: "As long as they're UK parsnips just let him out!"
While a third advised pragmatically: "Just let it out in the garden, dispose of the parsnips and get on with your evening." Social media users found humour in a quirky situation where a Sainsbury's customer reported finding an amphibian inside a bag of 'Taste the Difference' parsnips.
One user quipped, "'Taste the difference. You get what you paid for." A different customer jokingly expressed their jealousy: "Just checked mine and no frog, so disappointed!
