Woman, 60, caused death of young dad with dangerous driving on busy road

A 60-year-old woman who caused the death of a much-loved dad-of-three through dangerous driving has appeared in court.

Alison Cooper abruptly slammed her brakes on the A500 in South Cheshire on June 16, 2022, forcing Chris Parsons to swerve his Renault Clio into oncoming traffic.

In an attempt to avoid Cooper's car, Chris collided with a Seat Ateca around 4.45pm on the busy Barthomley road. Chris, a resident of Mastyn in North Wales, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at just 29-years-old, Cheshire Live reports.

His grieving family have since released a statement, saying: "Words can't describe the heartache we as a family are going through. He was a wonderful Son, brother, uncle, and loving Father to his three amazing children who he will be sorely missed by."

"He was an amazing, kind, caring wonderful person who would go above and beyond for absolutely anyone."

"We will not be making further comment as we still are yet to find out the conclusion of the investigation to determine exactly what happened and we kindly wish that our privacy as a family is respected at this time."

DC Lisa Evans-Hill, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a dangerous action on a busy road with fatal consequences. This decision to brake, caused not only Chris’s family’s lives to change forever that day, but Mrs Cooper’s as well.
