Woman, 30, charged over video of 'prison guard having sex with inmate' at HMP Wandsworth

A woman has been charged with misconduct in a public office following the emergence of a social media video that allegedly depicts a prison officer engaging in sexual activity with an inmate inside a cell.

The footage, which began circulating online last Friday, allegedly captures a prisoner and a staff member at HMP Wandsworth having sex. The video, seemingly recorded by another inmate using a mobile phone, includes the voiceover: "Guys we've made history, this is what I'm telling you."

Linda De Sousa Abreu, aged 30, has now been formally charged and is set to appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday, reports The Mirror.

In the video, the sound of colleagues communicating over the officer's radio can be heard, with the device left on a side table, while the footage also shows the prisoner's clothes scattered across a bunk bed. Following the discovery of the clip, the Met promptly initiated an investigation and announced on Saturday that a female suspect had been taken into custody for misconduct in public office.
