Woman, 24, charged with arson after fire at Salford home

A woman has appeared in court today accused of setting fire to a Salford home. Jordaine Liddle has been charged with arson following an incident on May 6.

Emergency services were called out to the property on Maple Close, in Pendleton, at around 11.30pm. It's understood no one was injured following the fire.

Liddle, 24, of Maple Close, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court earlier today. Her case was sent to Manchester Crown Court, where it will next be heard on June 13.

No bail was granted at the hearing, with Liddle to remain in custody until her next court appearance. In a post on Facebook this afternoon, a spokesperson for GMP Salford wrote: "Woman charged with arson following incident in Salford on Friday.

"On Friday evening (May 6, 2022), at around 11.30pm, police were called to a report of a fire at an address on Maple Close, Salford. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.

"Jordaine Liddle, 24, has been charged with arson in connection with the incident. She has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates court today (9 May)."
