Wolves: 'Unplayable' £50m star available to Bruno Lage this summer

Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering Allan Saint-Maximin as a direct replacement for Adama Traore and the Newcastle United winger could head to Molineux ‘if they really want him’, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Saint-Maximin has been on the Magpies’ books since sealing a £16.5million switch from Nice more than two-and-a-half years ago, but there are question marks over his long-term future at St James’ Park.

Aston Villa are also among Saint-Maximin’s admirers, with Newcastle understood to be willing to listen to offers of £50million.

Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is reportedly concerned by Saint-Maximin’s hefty salary demands despite still having more than four years remaining on his current deal at St James’ Park.

The lightning-fast wide-man would add plenty of Premier League experience to Wolves’ squad, having made 79 appearances in the competition and racked up 23 goal contributions along the way, while former Newcastle and England midfielder Rob Lee has described Saint-Maximin as ‘unplayable’ thanks to his performances on Tyneside.
