Wolves squad value compared to Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal

Wolverhampton Wanderers and the rest of the Premier League clubs have all named their 25-man squads for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

A busy transfer window for some clubs has seen them increase their sides, while others have remained largely the same.

In football, as in life, there’s a huge gap between the rich and the poor, something that’s evident when you look at how much each club spent in transfer fees assembling their squad.

The Reach Data Unit have taken each club’s 25-man squad and under-21 players, and totalled up the reported transfer fee for each player.

Manchester City have spent by far and away the most of any Premier League club. Pep Guardiola’s squad cost £808.6m in transfer fees.

That’s followed by Manchester United at a cost of £685 million and Chelsea with £654m, while at the other end of the scale though are Norwich, whose squad cost just £58.4m to assemble. Brentford’s cost £70.3m, Watford’s £83.4m and Burnley’s £90.6m.

Wolves, meanwhile, are resolutely mid-table when it comes to squad value, boasting the 11th-most expensively assembled side in the top flight.

The Molineux outfit spent in the January transfer window to bring in Jeung Sang-bin and Hayao Kawabe from Grasshoppers for a combined £1.5m, Chiquinho from Estoril for £3m, and made Hwang Hee-chan's loan from RB Leipzig a permanent signing for £14m.

However, Wolves did loan out winger Adama Traore to Barcelona in a deal that could land the club £35 million if the Catalan side make the move permanent.

Here is how Wolves' squad value compares to every Premier League club after the transfer window closed.

Manchester City: £808.6m

Manchester United: £685.0m

Chelsea: £654.0m

Liverpool: £565.8m

Arsenal: £436.3m

Everton: £336.4m
