Wolves sent thinly-veiled transfer dig after major injury blow suffered

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to social media to react to the latest injury blow to midfielder maestro Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese suffered a knee injury in the Leeds defeat, having to be replaced by Francisco Trincao in the 25th minute. I t has since been confirmed what most feared with Neves out of action until May, after travelling to Portugal to see a knee specialist with Wolves' medical team.

He is set to return to England next week and continue his rehabilitation at Compton Park. The 25-year-old has been instrumental to the club's success since signing from Portugal giants Porto in 2017. As a result of his injury, he has also been pulled out of the Portugal international team for their upcoming games.

"Neves not as bad as you think, we don’t have a game till April anyway so if he’s back in May will only miss 3 or 4 games. It says it’s an ‘uncomplicated injury’ so it’s rest but no surgery. Remember he’s already had a bad one before he came to us."
