Wolves now 'signing contracts' over 'huge deal' at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers are finalising a deal to sign Sasa Kalajdzic from Stuttgart before Thursday night’s transfer deadline, with contracts now being signed, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Bruno Lage has overseen a busy few months of business at Molineux and time is running out if he is to strengthen his squad further with the cut-off now imminent.

It is understood that Wolves are set to complete the signing of the 25-year-old marksman after agreeing to a £15.4 million fee with Stuttgart.

Kalajdzic was left out of the German side’s squad in midweek for a friendly with Koln, while he focuses on completing a transfer to the West Midlands.

According to MailOnline, Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton were all targeting the 6ft 7in frontman earlier in the window.

But it appears Wolves will now win the race for his signature and look set to land a cut-price deal with Kalajdzic into the final 12 months of his contract.

He will become Lage’s fifth signing of the summer window and take their spending up to the £120 million mark following permanent deals for Matheus Nunes, Goncalo Guedes, Hee-chan Hwang and Nathan Collins.

Romano understands that Wolves are in the process of signing the final contracts with Stuttgart to complete the transfer of Kalajdzic.

The journalist emphasises that they have beaten a number of sides to his signature and could move on to another centre-back target after the deal.
