Wolves: Lage now has major plans for £30m star at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has ‘a big role to play’ after impressing during the Molineux outfit’s pre-season, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The academy product is back in the West Midlands after spending last term on loan with Championship side Sheffield United.

Wolves offered Gibbs-White a new contract following his return from Sheffield United, but he has failed to put pen-to-paper so far.

That has led to uncertainty over the 22-year-old’s future as he has entered the final 12 months of his current agreement at Molineux.

Crystal Palace are understood to be among the clubs looking to pounce, with Eagles boss Patrick Vieira seeing Gibbs-White as the ideal replacement for former loanee Conor Gallagher.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “Gibbs-White seems to be doing really well for Wolves in pre-season.

“From what we hear, the noises coming from the club are that he’s going to have quite a big role to play for them this season.”

Although Wolves find themselves in a precarious position thanks to Gibbs-White’s contract situation, he emphasised his talent by racking up 22 goal contributions in 37 appearances for Sheffield
