Wolves eye up summer swoop for £15.3m-rated midfielder; only Traore completes more dribbles

Wolves are still eying up a potential summer move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Pedrinho, although acquiring his signature may not be easy.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals in eight starts in the Ukrainian Premier League this season, also enjoying an 89.5% pass completion rate in the Champions League, showing his composure at the highest level.

Pedrinho has been linked with a move to Wolves in recent days, as Bruno Lage looks to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian’s Shakhtar deal doesn’t expire until 2025, but with Transfermarkt currently valuing him at £15.3million and FIFA allowing foreign players in Ukraine to rip up their contracts, perhaps a chance will arise for Scott Sellars and Fosun to make a deal.

According to Yahoo [via Sport Witness], Sellars and Co are continuing to ‘monitor’ Pedrinho ahead of a potential bid in the coming months, with Brazilian clubs such as Corinthians and Sao Paulo also thought to be interested.

It is however claimed that a transfer could be made more complicated by the current situation in Ukraine.

Should the situation ease and a pathway appear for Wolves to sign Pedrinho, it has the potential to be an inspired piece of transfer business this summer.

The youngster possesses creative brilliance that could add another dimension to the Wanderers’ midfield – he has averaged 2.5 dribbles per game in the Champions League this season, with only the loaned out Adama Traore (4.2) averaging more in the Premier League at Wolves.

With the likes of Leander Dendoncker, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho playing deeper-lying midfield roles, Pedrinho could sit in the No.10 position and wreak havoc in front of them, while his age would make him a long-term addition.
