Wolves: Exit-linked £27m ace now tipped for Molineux stay

Wolves are unlikely to listen to offers for Leander Dendoncker this summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £27m-rated midfielder has proved a key player for the Molineux outfit in recent seasons, although reports have emerged that he might be a player that Wolves are looking to sell.

Despite featuring in 80 percent of Wolves’ Premier League games this term, with 15 of his outings coming from the off, the Daily Mail believe that the Midlands side could put the Belgium international up for sale.

Dendoncker has never managed to establish himself as a regular in one position during his four years at the club, but he has gone on to make 148 appearances under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo and Bruno Lage.

He has split his time in both defence and midfield in the Premier League, with his versatility often proving crucial when Wolves have suffered injuries.

This season, Dendoncker has once again played all over the pitch and even started in a more attacking role in the recent defeat to Leeds, highlighting how much of a useful asset he remains in Lage’s squad.

Therefore, O’Rourke doesn’t believe that he’s a player that Wolves will be considering letting go at the end of the season.

When asked about his future, he told GIVEMESPORT: “I’d be surprised if Wolves listen to offers for Dendoncker.”

While Dendoncker might not have the passing range of some of Wolves’ other central midfielders, he’s not a playing Lage should be looking to move on at this current moment.
