Wolves agree new betting shirt sponsorship deal after scrapping ManBetX

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced betting firm 12Bet will become the club’s new sleeve partner for the 2022/23 season.

Wolves unveiled their new Castore home kit earlier today and also revealed details of a new partnership with 12Bet. 12Bet takes over from Bitci.com as Wolves’ sleeve sponsor for next season.

Announcing the link up, Wolves said: “12Bet are one of the most recognisable and trusted sports betting brands, with a particular reputation as in-play football betting specialists, and now join in partnership with the club.”

12Bet’s partnership with Wolves comes hot-on-the-heels of news that the club had ended its association with fellow betting firm ManBetX. It was announced on Tuesday that AstroPay will be taking over as the club’s principal partner and their branding features on the new home kit.

The FA are currently reviewing gambling firms’ involvement in English football with no fewer than half of the 20 Premier League teams displaying betting sponsorship on their shirts last season. Clubs could face a blanket ban on shirt sponsorship deals with betting forms, it has been claimed.
