Wolves: £19.8m star set for Molineux exit

Trinaco is unlikely to be at Wolves next season, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland.

The £19.8m-rated attacker is currently on loan from Barcelona, but the 22-year-old has failed to live up to expectations during his time at Molineux.

It’s generally been a positive first campaign at Wolves for Bruno Lage, with the majority of his signings making a big impact on the squad, Jose Sa and Hwang Hee-chan being the standouts.

But Trinaco’s loan spell has been largely underwhelming, besides the odd bright spark.

Trinaco has featured in 25 of Wolves’ 33 Premier League games this season, but he’s only managed to contribute to goals in one of those fixtures.

In the recent defeat to Leeds, he teed up Jonny for the opening goal, before doubling Wolves’ lead with a measure finish; his first in England’s top-flight.

But Trinaco hasn’t been able to kick on from that performance, with no goals or assists in his three outings since.

As a result, Holland doesn’t expect Wolves to either loan him back or sign him permanently in 2022-2023.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think he’s going to stay at Wolves. I saw something about Benfica wanting him, with him going to his home nation, I think that would be a perfect move.

“The [Adama] Traore and Trinaco transfer business could be a sticky one, because I can’t see an outcome where both clubs are happy.”

Trinaco’s average rating per is 6.60, which is the third-worse in the entire squad for players that have started more than five Premier League games this term.
