Wolvaardt returns to top 10 as Ismail, Khaka climb up ICC ODI rankings

Proteas women's batter Laura Wolvaardt has returned to the Top 10 of the ICC ODI batting rankings following South Africa's one-day series win against the West Indies.

On Sunday, the Proteas clinched the four-match ODI series 2-1 with a six-wicket win at the Wanderers - handing South Africa their fifth consecutive ODI series win.

Wolvaardt ended as the second-highest run-scorer of the series (behind West Indies' Deandra Dottin), scoring 171 runs at an average of 42.75.

The star Proteas batter brought up her third ODI century as she made 117 off 123 balls (11 fours and a six) in the third ODI to help the Proteas' turnaround.

According to the ICC's latest updates, Wolvaardt progressed from 13th to ninth in the ICC ODI batting rankings.

Proteas all-rounder Chloe Tryon moved up two places to 39th and captain Sune Luus also climbed up four places to 40th after her 155 runs in the ODI series.

Meanwhile, the Proteas women still have three bowlers in the Top 10 of the bowling ODI rankings.

Fast bowler Shabnim Ismail rose from sixth to fifth after finishing as the joint highest-wicket taker of the series - with 10 wickets in the four ODIs.

Bowler Ayabonga Khaka also moved up one spot to seventh after her 10 wickets, which included her first five-wicket haul (5/26) in the second ODI.
