Wimbledon: Serena Williams confirms she'll return to tennis at Grand Slam

Serena Williams has confirmed on Instagram that she will play at Wimbledon this year. 

The 40-year-old did not qualify for the main draw automatically but has seemingly accepted a wildcard to play in the competition. 

Williams is chasing an eighth Wimbledon title and a record-equalling 24th major title. 

Posting on Instagram, she wrote: “SW and SW19. It’s a date. 2022 See you there. Let’s go #renasarmy.”
