William and Kate live updates as Royal couple make Welsh cakes and greet crowd in Pontypridd
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been greeted by large crowds in Wales as they carry out joint engagements in Wales today (February 26) ahead of St David's Day. Princess Kate, who is continuing with her gradual return to public duties since completing her cancer treatment, is in Pontypridd with Prince William.
People gathered to catch a glimpse of the couple, who are meeting local people affected by the severe flooding caused by Storm Bert and Storm Darragh, which hit the region in the space of just two weeks in late 2024.
The couple visited Pontypridd Market, which has been at the heart of the community since 1805, and toured the food hall where they rolled up their sleeves to help prepare and cook a batch of traditional Welsh cakes.
The prince and princess will also see Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland to hear about the site's impact and how volunteers worked to restore it in the wake of the storms. Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter here.
It follow's Kate's solo trip to Wales in January, which saw her visit Ty Hafan children’s hospice based in Sully, Vale of Glamorgan, and the Corgi factory in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. You can read more about that by clicking here.
