Will there be any more seasons of The Witcher?

The Witcher fans are returning to the Continent once again, as the next instalment of the fantasy drama drops on Netflix.

The show centres around white-haired beast slayer Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, who soon discovers that real humans can be worse than actual monsters. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novel Time of Contempt, the third season has been split into two, with the second part - containing three episodes - released on Thursday (July 17).

The show's creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich previously said of the third series: “For years, Geralt has claimed neutrality, shunned politics and publicly asserted that witchers don’t have emotions — all to make his life as a killer easier to navigate. We’ve seen him battle monsters and monstrous humans; we’ve watched as he’s hardened himself in order to survive. This season, he can no longer do that.”

She added that the new episodes are 'the culmination of what we’ve been building toward all along,' adding: “We get to see everything on the Continent change, which is super exciting.”

Season 3 part 2 won't be the end for The Witcher but it will be final time Henry plays Geralt. The star is hanging up his white wig after announcing his departure from the show back in October.

Though neither Netflix or Henry have confirmed the reason for the departure, fans have speculated he stepped down because his vision for the show did not align with the writers’ plans and the show's differences to its source material, of which Henry is known to be a fan.

Just days before the news broke, it was confirmed Henry would reprise his role as Superman in the DC Extended Universe.
