"Will be hoping": Journalist drops big Wolves claim on 16 G/A gem who's improved this season
Morgan Gibbs-White will be hoping his form out on loan will be enough to earn him a place in Bruno Lage’s Wolves side next season, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The £8.1m-rated attacker has been in outstanding form for Sheffield United to help them emerges as contenders for a top six finish in the Championship.
Following a failed loan spell with Swansea and half a season back at Wolves where he played less than 1,000 minutes overall, the 22-year-old headed to Bramall Lane in a bid to try and regain his confidence and get his career back on track.
Gibbs-White marked his debut with a goal and an assist in a 6-2 victory over Peterborough and he pretty much hasn’t looked back since.
Overall, Gibbs-White, who’s been Sheffield United’s best-rated player this term according to WhoScored, has scored nine goals and chipped in with an impressive seven assists.
It means that more than half of the youngster’s goal contributions in his career have come during this loan stint, and O’Rourke believes that the ex-England Under-21 man will be hoping his performances have caught the attention of Bruno Lage.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure Morgan Gibbs-White will be hoping he’s done enough on loan to warrant a place in the Wolves side next season.
“The loan move for Gibbs-White has worked out for everybody involved. It’s given him first-team minutes, helped him improve his game and also been a good signing for Sheffield United.”
