Wild Rangers more than a rumour sparks a Hotline explosion but there is £18m reasons why it's Real Bull
The San Francisco 49ers and their investment group are in town as talks with Rangers' new owners near the finish line. But one Hotline caller doesn't think they'll be too impressed with what they see.
Eddie Gilfeather, Glasgow, said: "It was interesting to read in the Daily Record that the 49ers big hitters were given the red carpet treatment at Ibrox. Was the bike in the trophy room given a fresh coat of paint in their honour?"
The Jurgen Klopp to Rangers rumours (we'll use that term loosely) from yesterday's Hotline were getting plenty of attention today.
Neil Renton, Leith, said: "It appears that Hotline reader Graham Taylor has been coming into contact with people who have some imagination. To hear from two different sources that Jurgen Klopp is going to be the new Rangers manager has more fantasy to it than The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Red Bull? More like Real Bull."
John Scott, Grassmoor, said: "Jurgen Klopp? Jose Mourinho? What's in the water up the road? Klopp for one was on about £18m a season at Liverpool. Good luck matching that Rangers. Mourinho's pocketing about €10m at Fenerbahce and looks more likely to be heading to the Saudi League.
"Let's see, the opulence of Saudi Arabia or a cold, wet evening in Dingwall or Livingston? There's more chance of Neil Lennon being unveiled as next Rangers manager alongside his assistants Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths and Chris Sutton."
Mark McManus, Purley, said: "Great giggle yesterday reading Hotline comments about Klopp going to Rangers. If you heard it in the back of a taxi it must be true! Also, Chris Lowe's obsession with Celtic reaches boiling point with nominations for Players of the Year. Thank you for the laughs guys."
