Wigan man charged with kidnap, sexual assault and false imprisonment

A Wigan man is due to appear in court after being charged with a number of sexually-motivated offences.

Michael Ellis Owen, 33, of Bridgewater Street, Hindley, has been charged with kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault and false imprisonment.

He is set to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday March 15).

A spokesman for the Leigh, Atherton and Hindley division of Greater Manchester Police tweeted: "A Wigan man has been charged with kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault and false imprisonment. Michael Ellis Owen (DOB 26/10/88), of Bridgewater Street, Hindley, is due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court today (15 March 2022)."
