Wife of Thomas Campbell who was allegedly 'tortured to death' found guilty of his manslaughter as another man guilty of murder

Jurors are deliberating in the trial of three people accused of the murder of Thomas Campbell who was allegedly 'tortured to death' in his own home. Mr Campbell's ex-wife Coleen Campbell, 38, Stephen Cleworth, also 38, and Reece Steven, 29, have been standing trial at Bolton Crown Court.

The trio have all pleaded not guilty to murder. Prosecutors allege that Mr Campbell, 38, was murdered after being 'pounced on' by three men at his home in Mossley, Tameside, after 11pm on Saturday, July 2 last year.

It is alleged that all three were also part of a conspiracy to rob Mr Campbell, with his home said to have been 'ransacked' while he was being attacked. Ms Campbell, of Bamford Street, Clayton; Mr Cleworth, of Charles Street, Heywood; and Mr Steven, of Poplar Street, Middleton, have also pleaded not guilty to this charge.
