Wiegman will discuss a new England deal after World Cup qualifiers

England manager Sarina Wiegman says she will sit down with the FA to discuss a new contract after next month's World Cup qualifiers.

The Lionesses return to action for the first time since winning Euro 2022 with a trip to Austria on Saturday week before hosting Luxembourg three days later.

Wiegman, who is contracted until 2025, said conversations will take place in due course.

'I spoke to them right after the Euros and I got the exact same message that you have. We just came back from holiday, we now get ready for the qualification matches that are very important.

'I still have a contract for three years so we don't have to do it tomorrow but we will do it in a short while.

'But first, it's about the squad and the games and then we'll have a conversation.

'I really appreciate they're reaching out to me and that they are happy with me and with the rest of the staff.'

Wiegman has named a squad of 23 which includes the uncapped Lauren James.

'We know she's a talented player,' added Wiegman. 'We wanted to give her a chance to show what she can do.'

Both Chloe Kelly, scorer of the winning goal in the Euros final, and Fran Kirby have been left out due to injury.
