'Why wouldn't I?' - Ajax star Mohammed Kudus reveals stance on his future amid Man United links

Mohammed Kudus has revealed that he is "very happy" at Ajax despite interest in his signature beginning to grow.

Kudus was signed by Erik ten Hag back in 2020 from Nordsjaelland, and the youngster is now starting to show why the current United manager brought him to the Eredivisie. He stole the headlines at the World Cup last year with his performance against South Korea, bagging two goals to help his side to a 3-2 win.

Kudus has gone from strength to strength at club level. Despite being asked to play in a number of different positions this term, the Ajax man has grabbed 18 goals and five assists in 35 appearances.

MEN Sport has revealed that Ten Hag believes Kudus has the qualities needed to excel in the English top flight, and the 22-year-old has now had his say on his future.

In an interview with De Telegraaf, Kudus said: "I am very happy at Ajax at the moment, but I will be even happier if we win the double. Why wouldn’t I want to renew [my contract]?

"I play and develop well. Now it’s about negotiation and valuation.

"When the time is right, we’ll see how it goes. But that will have to be conducted with my agent.

"I want to focus entirely on the title race." Despite his latest admission, questions over Kudus' future are likely to persist. At present, the Ghanaian has another two years left on his deal at Ajax.
