Why Phil Foden has left England's Euro 2024 camp in Germany 'temporarily' revealed

Phil Foden has left England's Euro 2024 camp.

The Manchester City star has started all three games for Gareth Southgate's side in Group C alongside Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia with the Three Lions drawing 0-0 last night to end their section in top spot with five points from their three outings. They now await who they will face in the last 16 but their plans could change on the selection front with Foden 'temporarily' returning to the UK from Germany due to family reasons.

Premier League player of the season Foden started all three of England's group games. He played the full 90 minutes against Serbia, before being withdrawn in the latter stages of the draws against Denmark and Slovenia.

Southgate's team aren't back in action until Sunday in the last 16 - giving the 24-year-old a chance to return in time for the round of 16 match in Gelsenkirchen. As it stands they appear likely to face the Netherlands but that will be confirmed following the conclusion of Group E and Group F on Wednesday.
