Why Manchester United vs Southampton isn't on TV in and how to follow Premier League game

Manchester United are back in Premier League action this weekend but will not be on the box.

While upwards of 70,000 United fans will be inside Old Trafford to see whether Erik ten Hag's side can conjure up another performance such as the one which dispatched Real Betis in their midweek Europa League meeting, those trying to tune in at home will be disappointed.

It is just over a month since a United match was not televised, which was a home against Leeds United, with all of their last eight aired live across the various UK broadcasters. Neither BT nor Sky have chosen Southampton's visit for coverage.

Bournemouth hosting Liverpool kicks off the weekend on Saturday lunchtime before Manchester City travel down to face Crystal Palace in the evening. On Sunday, Arsenal entertain Fulham in an all-London affair before Newcastle United meet Wolverhampton Wanderers later that afternoon.

United play Southampton at the same time as that London derby, as the initially scheduled Saturday date was shifted back by 24 hours due to United's progress in Europe. Their next live televised match will be the round of 16 return leg in Spain on Thursday, while next weekend's FA Cup quarter-final tie with Fulham is on terrestrial television.
