Why Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is not likely to move to PSG

There is no denying that Marcus Rashford has been in a spell of poor form. Spanning the past 18 months the 24-year-old has been in a serious rut. Not being able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis, not providing consistent chances for the team and looking like a shell of the player that he once did.

Rashford has been getting his head down and working hard on his game to improve his performances for his boyhood club over the summer. However, rumours have now begun to circulate of a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain for the Manchester United forward.

There are several reasons as to why this would not be a good move and why it is unlikely. Firstly, the move may not work out for Rashford himself. With the attacking talent PSG currently have at their disposal with the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to name a few, it is extremely likely that the England international would not get a regular start for PSG.

Moreover, this move does not make sense for Erik ten Hag. With a squad that already lacks attacking options and with the players that departed in the summer, losing a player capable of scoring 20 goals in a season seems illogical.

There have been suggestions that these rumours are simply to try and get United to offer Rashford a better contract, as his current deal expires next year. However, this does not sit well with many fans. There is the opinion that if Rashford really wanted a better contract, forget about these rumours, and start performing to the levels that everyone knows he is capable of.
