Why Man City haven't unveiled Erling Haaland yet after Borussia Dortmund transfer

Manchester City are yet to officially unveil new recruit Erling Haaland despite the striker's move to the Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund being agreed almost a month ago.

City, on May 10, announced that they had reached an agreement with the German heavyweights to sign the 21-year-old, subject to him agreeing personal terms. It is understood that he will join the club in a deal worth £51million.

Haaland has since visited Manchester and, according to a report by The Athletic, has visited City's training ground, while sporting City-branded clothing. He has also had a meal with club executives and been house hunting in the Cheshire area.

However, City are yet to release any images or officially announce the striker's arrival at the Etihad Stadium — causing some supporters to get a little anxious. The transfer window does not officially open until Friday (June 10) and City's statement confirming their agreement with Dortmund stated that the transfer would take place on July 1.

Therefore, there is little for City's supporters to worry about concerning the lack of an announcement. According to the report, all of the necessary content to unveil Haaland is ready and raring to go, meaning it is just awaiting the click of a button once all of the formalities are completed.

Meanwhile, a decision is yet to be made on what shirt number Haaland will wear at City. His camp hope that he can continue to sport the No.9 shirt to strengthen his brand, but the number is currently worn by Gabriel Jesus. But with the Brazilian's future at the Etihad Stadium up in the air, it could be possible that Haaland is able to source his preferred preference.
