Why Barcelona status means nothing for Alex Valle at Celtic as legend names 4 strengths he brings to the table

Peter Grant has explained why being a Barcelona player means NOTHING for Alex Valle at Celtic as he named his FOUR key strengths.

The Celtic hero was on duty for the Hoops' official TV channel for the friendly against Sligo Rovers on Wednesday night. Brendan Rodgers handed top team stars in need of much-needed minutes time on the park with a mixture of youth prospects. Luis Palma was the biggest beneficiary as he delivered his boss a reminder of what he can bring to the table with a hat-trick in the five-goal thriller. The Scottish champions trailed going into the final minute but two last-gasp goals turned the game on its head for a 3-2 win.

The likes of summer signing Luke McCowan, Stephen Welsh and Scott Bain also played in the match as did another incoming during the transfer window the shape of Valle. Hoops legend Grant was impressed with the youngster and what he showed in the clash. He revealed the area he reckons the 20-year-old can improve in, but also rhymed off a list of positives to his game. He knows he comes from a huge club and pedigree with Barcelona, but insists that will count for nothing during his time in Scotland.

Asked about Valle's performance, Grant told Go Radio: "Good player. I thought he [Valle] did very well. I thought he did excellent in the league match. People think Barcelona, that is fine but he's coming in to play for Celtic which is completely different to where he has been before.

"Even though he can train with Barcelona. It means nothing. He's 20 years of age, handles the ball really well, recovers and tries to get back in and do all the things correctly. Maybe his final ball could be a little better on the cross if he is in the final area. But I have been impressed with him."
