Why Alejandro Garnacho could miss start of next season as Kieran McKenna explains Man United snub

United might have to make do without Garnacho for the opening embers of the new campaign due to his expected participation in Argentina’s Olympic squad. TNT Argentina reports that coach Javier Mascherano will ask him to play in the Games after his likely inclusion in this summer’s Copa America squad.

The final of the latter tournament is staged on July 15, with Argentina’s opening game for the Olympics set for July 25 and the gold medal match taking place on August 9. The new Premier League season commences on August 16.
