Why Aaron Wan-Bissaka started at left-back for Manchester United vs Tottenham

Aaron Wan-Bissaka only knew he was starting for Manchester United against Tottenham on the morning of the match.

United had prepared for the fixture with Luke Shaw starting at left-back but Shaw withdrew from selection as he was not fully match fit.

Right-back Wan-Bissaka started at left-back for the first time in his career and Diogo Dalot, who has often switched to the left in the absence of Shaw, remained at right-back.

"On Monday against Wigan, he played for a part of it. We expected Luke Shaw, we trained with Luke Shaw in preparation for this game, but this morning he dropped out, not fit enough to start.
