Who will win Aberdeen vs Celtic? Our writers predict Scottish Cup Final clash at Hampden

There shouldn't really be such an overwhelming favourite when fifth in the Premiership play the champions in the Scottish Cup Final.

But not one of the Record Sport writers are giving Aberdeen a prayer at Hampden with Celtic not just tipped to win and secure a ninth Treble in their history, but to brutally dispatch the Dons on the biggest stage.

It's been a strange old season for Jimmy Thelin's men. A record breaking start had them dreaming of a title challenge in the North East, and a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park hinted that they could be the real deal.

But that notion was ruthlessly dispelled just week's later as Brendan Rodgers' side took them apart in the League Cup semi-final, hitting Thelin's boys for six before going on to beat Rangers in the final.

No-one is saying it's going to be quite that bad this time, but what's a goal less when you're on the wrong end of a heavy defeat?

Of course the old adage of anything being possible in a cup final will be trotted out and Aberdeen have a puncher's chance.

But as far as our guys are concerned, they'll be begging for the end long before the final whistle blows in Glasgow.
