In addition to targeting a striker and a midfielder this summer, Arsenal are also looking to strengthen at right-back as they attempt to provide healthy competition for Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The Gunners are looking at the South American market for potential new signings and are monitoring Peruvian right-back Jhilmar Lora among others in the region, understands.
21-year-old Lora has been described by Peruvian football manager Roberto Mosquera as "an excellent and interesting player", after his time with the Peru national team.
As you may not know much about him,has taken a brief look at his career so far.
A lifelong supporter of Sporting Cristal, Lora joined the Lima club when he was just 11.
He spent eight years as a junior between 2011 and 2019 and won five national titles with the club: the U17 Centennial Tournament, the 2016 Centennial Model Cup and the Torneo de Promoción y Reserva in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
He also won a further three small tournaments in 2018: summer, opening and closing.
The Peruvian signed his first professional contract on August 7 2019 before making his debut as a 61st minute substitute
