Arsenal are on the verge of sealing their second signing of the summer transfer window this week as Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira is set to undergo his medical, with both clubs having already agreed a £30 million fee.

It follows up last week’s arrival of Brazilian youngster Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, as Mikel Arteta looks to act quickly ahead of next season. It also seems Gabriel Jesus is edging closer to a switch from Manchester City but, for now, all attention is on Vieira as he prepares to sign on the dotted line.

Fabio Vieira, born May 30, 2000 is a 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder who is set to become Arsenal ’s second signing of the summer transfer window. He will make a £30m switch from Primeira Liga club Porto and sign a five-year contract with the Gunners.

Vieira was born in his homeland city of Santa Maria da Feira and joined the youth ranks of Porto at the age of eight in 2008, where he spent 11 years developing and even had a brief loan spell to second division side Padroense during the 2015-16 season.
