At 22, Ella Toone has been a regular of England's WU17, WU19 and WU21 squads. She is now in the latest international team for the Women's Euro 2022 competition.

Born in Tyldesley, the Manchester United WFC player (who has also played for Blackburn and Manchester City) has not failed to impress in her career to date. She already played in team GB's squad for last summer's delayed Tokyo Olympics and won Manchester United Women's Player of the Year for 2021/22.

Growing up a Manchester United fan, she has spoken about what it was like to be offered a professional contract. Manutd.com reported her as saying: "I think Casey Stoney rang my agent and wanted to see if I was interested. I bit her hand off straight away, it was home.
