Who is Calvin Ramsay? Liverpool agree transfer deal with Aberdeen for Scottish wonderkid

Liverpool have agreed a deal for talented Scottish full-back Calvin Ramsay, who will join the Reds from Aberdeen.

The Reds are set to pay an initial £4m for Ramsay, with a further £1.5m potentially heading to Aberdeen as part of appearance related bonus clauses.

The 18-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Dons in all competitions ever since breaking into the first-team in March 2021.

Ramsay has also graduated through the ranks of the Scottish national team and has already played for the under 16s and under 17s, before becoming an established member of the under 21s last year, making three competitive appearances so far for Scot Gemmill’s side.

Following his breakthrough into the Aberdeen first team and becoming first-choice right-back, Ramsay attracted plenty of attention this campaign, and along with Liverpool, had been linked with moves to the likes of Leeds United, Leicester City, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham, and even Serie A side Bologna.
